Small businesses make up the backbone of the nation. According to The Department for Business Innovation and Skill, in 2008, there are 4.8 million small businesses operating in the UK. What is more, they collectively employ 13.5m people - almost half the working population. With 500,000 new businesses starting every year, they contribute more than 50.1 per cent of the UK turnover.
Despite this, the UK small business sector is often overlooked by both the media and the government. The team at Intuit UK is committed to support small business owners and entrepreneurs.
